The Ranch at Sundown

Some sunsets give you plenty of warning. Others make you drop what you are doing and go.

This was one of those evenings where I had been busy and almost missed it. The kind of busy where the day keeps pulling at you, and before you know it, the light outside starts changing. I looked up and realized the sky was beginning to burn across the horizon, so I grabbed the camera and tried to catch what was left of it.

By the time I made it out, the sun was already slipping away. The pasture had gone dark, the fence line had turned into a silhouette, and all that was left was that incredible color stretched across the Oklahoma sky.

That is what I love about this image. It feels like a working ranch at the end of a long day. The chores are done, the dust has settled, and the land goes quiet for a little while. The barbed wire cuts across the scene, not as something harsh, but as part of the story. It is the edge of a pasture, the shape of rural life, and a reminder of the people who work the land day after day.

The colors did not last long. They never do. That is what makes moments like this feel special. You either catch them or you don’t.

The Ranch at Sundown is about that brief pause between daylight and dark, when the sky puts on one last show and the whole world seems to slow down for just a minute.

The Ranch at Sundown is available in multiple sizes and media, including professional photo prints, metal prints, and canvas prints, so you can choose the finish that best fits your space.

Free shipping included. Please allow approximately 10 to 14 business days for production and delivery.
